Assisted living prices vary a lot from state to state. Here are the 2025 monthly medians for every state, from one published survey, so you can compare.

In the CareScout Cost of Care Survey 2025, the national median for assisted living was $6,200 a month. Kansas came in at $5,975 and Missouri at $5,400. The table below lists the monthly median for assisted living and for 44 hours a week of in-home care in each state. Prices within a state vary by city and community. - Assisted living figures are for a private one-bedroom apartment.
- Care-level charges may add to the base price.
- City prices can differ from the state median.
